Liam Owen Bass

When I was 6 years old, my guitarist dad bought me an old P copy bass... I've been playing it ever since.

 

I've moved on since then - the Hondo P is now a beautiful 5 string Lakland for starters - but some things are the same: I love music;  I love bass.

I've played live in countless bands over the years using electric and double bass.  I've recorded with both instruments in a variety of settings: live ensemble recordings, overdubs, isolated sessions to click tracks, etc.  I've provided funk grooves for function bands, backed singer/songwriters to help them realise their sound, growled in rock bands and counted odd-meters in avant garde folk jazz pop combos!

 

I have a highly professional approach to my work, trying to bring my own skills and creativity and combine it with the vision and needs of the artist.  I work quickly and confidently and, perhaps most importantly, I'm an easy-going and lighthearted member of any musical team.
